Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled | |
|
The night before Jesus died, He gave His peace to His disciples — “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you…” This peace was not just for His disciples, but also for us today. We have His peace. The moment you believe in Jesus Christ, He who is the Prince of Peace comes to live inside you. And when the Prince of Peace resides in you, every blessing that you will ever need pertaining to your soundness and wholeness is already inside you. “Pastor Prince, if this is true, then why do I still see problems in my health, finances, family and relationships?” The answer is a troubled heart. That is why after Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you,” He said, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” A troubled and fearful heart works like fingers that clamp down hard on a water hose. The supply of water is flowing from the tap, but little or nothing is coming out at the other end of the hose. God’s ever-present supply of blessings toward you is like the water flowing freely from the tap. But you don’t see the blessings when you allow your heart to be gripped by worry or fear. So when fearful, anxious thoughts come, remind yourself of Jesus’ words: “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Even when things appear to get worse, say, “Lord, I refuse to worry about this. In the midst of all this, I see the finished work of Christ. He said, ‘It is finished!’ So my child’s healing is accomplished. My marriage is blessed. My debts are cleared. I will let not my heart be troubled by these things.” Beloved, I cannot “let not” for you. Your family and friends cannot “let not” for you. Only you can “let not your heart be troubled”. So guard your heart from being troubled. You don’t have to guard your career, reputation, children or even health. When you guard your heart, God will guard everything else for you! |

HAPPY DEEPAVALI!
Diwali or Deepavali is usually celebrated in October or November, and is one of the most popular and eagerly awaited festivals in India. It is celebrated after twenty days of Dussehra Festival.
For practicing Hindus it is one of the most important festivals in a year. There is a legend associated with this festival. It is said that this festival is celebrated to mark Lord Rama’s victory over Demon King, Ravana.
In Sri Lanka, this festival is mostly celebrated by the Tamil community scattered in different areas of the island but mostly concentrated in the north. Haven and Puja are performed as part of the rituals and people to wear new clothes. Pleasantries and gifts are exchanged with friends and relatives.
Deepavali Festival is observed to welcome Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Sri Lankan Tamils or Hindus light up their homes with decorative lamps and diyas. Special sweet dishes are prepared to propitiate the Goddess and earn her eternal blessings.

PHILIPPINE WEATHER WATCH: RP faces 2 cyclones as Quedan enters territory
Pepeng weakens but hovers over N. Luzon - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos
Philippine Daily Inquirer

At 10 a.m. Monday, storm "Pepeng" was estimated to be at 230 kilometers northwest of Laoag City, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph.
Pagasa has lowered the storm signal in Ilocos Norte to Signal No. 2 from Sunday's signal No. 3.
Signal No. 1 was hoisted over Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Batanes Group, and Northern Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands.
Despite this whiff of good news, Pagasa officials still urge public officials and residents in the affected areas not to lower their guard.
"Stormy weather will continue to prevail in the next three days," Nathaniel Cruz, deputy administrator for operations and services of the Philippine Astronomical Services (Pagasa), said at a press conference.
Cruz noted that from Monday morning, Laoag City has already registered 403 millimeters of rainfall while Vigan City in Ilocos Sur has had 417 millimeters of rainfall.
This was about the same volume of water unleashed by tropical storm Ondoy (international name: Ketsana) that submerged 80 percent of Manila a week earlier and killed nearly 300 people.
Even if there would be less rainfall in the coming days, the amount of rain that could be accumulated "is one of the hazardous effects of a storm not leaving," said Cruz.
Two weather systems, a high pressure area in the northwest of Northern Luzon as well as the Typhoon "Melor" that is heading towards the Philippine area of responsibility are affecting the track of "Pepeng," Cruz said.
Pagasa expected Typhoon "Melor" to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by noon on Monday.
To be known as Typhoon "Quedan" by the time it enters the PAR, the weather disturbance could pull back "Pepeng" to the provinces it ravaged over the weekend before they both leave the PAR.
The high pressure area spotted near Hong Kong, in the northwest of Northern Luzon, could also steer "Pepeng" away from the country and head for Vietnam, said Robert Sawi, Pagasa senior weather forecaster.
"By this afternoon, we will have two weather disturbances in the Philippine area of responsibility, Pepeng in the west and Quedan in the east," Cruz said.
Pepeng (international name: Parma) caused landslides and floods that killed at least 16 people, officials said Monday.
